BAKING INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION OF TASMANIA

The Baking Industry Association of Tasmania provides a broad range of high quality services and advice to the baking industry on matters which are specific to the industry, and on matters which relate to the general business community.

The association is a non-profit organisation and is funded by its members to assist its members.

Membership Form and fees

For the moderate subscription rate shown on the attached scale, the Association will provide you with:

¯                  a telephone advisory service on all industrial relations and human resources matters relating to you and your employees, e.g. award conditions, termination procedures, union action, workers compensation, and long service leave. Your call could recover your membership costs.

¯                  a regularly up-dated award service, which is usually provided long before the Government Printer’s edition,

¯                  assistance and representation before a number of jurisdictions, including unfair dismissal matters and other industrial disputes, development of enterprise agreements,

¯                  the ability, through an industry advisory committee, to influence the curriculum and method of training for apprentices and trainees,

¯                  a better business environment as a result of our lobbying on behalf of members and representation at local, state and federal Government levels on food standards and on health and other regulations,

¯                  periodic seminars with speakers on topics of interest to bakers,

¯                  savings on your telecommunications through the Southern Cross Telco, a Tasmanian firm.

¯                  regular communications on issues that effect your business through “FOCUS”, and we also provide you with other topical circulars throughout the year, and

¯                  opportunity to meet with fellow bakers to discuss matters of common interest.

Many of the things which have occurred in the baking industry over past years have not occurred automatically, but have resulted from the hard work of the Association. If improvements are to continue to be made in our industry it is important that the Association remain strong and active. Please support your industry association.
